The Freedom of Dual Citizenship

Having dual citizenship is all about living your life the way you want to live it. Remember that no one has the right to dictate to you how to live your life providing you are not harming or interfering with another persons' rights.

Unfortunately this ideal is not appreciated by many and in particular many governments, who feel it is their right to control you, quite often with the ultimate aim of taxing you to the maximum.

There are many reasons why you may want a second passport or dual citizenship. The main ones are listed below:

  • Top of the list is taxation
  • Many countries are now taxing their citizens unnecessarily high, whether by direct tax on income or indirect tax on other products or services;

  • Investing in property
  • It is quite often difficult to invest or buy property in certain countries because of your present citizenship. Dual citizenship is a solution to this problem;

  • Freedom
  • Your freedom to work and travel is restricted by your present citizenship;

  • Your assets are at risk of litigation;

  • You may be subject to punitive currency controls;

  • Visas
  • It may be difficult or impossible to obtain visas for travel because of your countries political instability;

  • Hijackers
  • You may be at risk from hijackers or terrorists simply because of your present citizenship.

As you can see there are many reasons why you may want to obtain a second passport. Many citizens are quite happy to live and work in one country all their lives whilst others have dual citizenship, or even many citizenships, which allow them to chose to live the kind of free lifestyle that others would not think possible or even legal.

How to obtain a second passport

Generally speaking there are three ways to obtain a second passport:

1. Buying a fast-track second passport - there are only two countries in the world where you can buy a passport completely legally, provided you pass some basic checks. These are called economic citizenship programs.(details below)

2. Naturalization - ie. developing lasting relationships with a country through residence or family ties. Many would argue that obtaining a second passport by naturalization is really much better than holding a passport from one of the two nations that are known worldwide for 'selling' passports.(details below)

When we talk about residency we are talking on paper. You don't have to live there but it gives you the right to do so if you want to.

3. Ancestory - many people qualify for this without even realising it. Many North Americans for example have parents or grandparents who emmigrated from Europe and therefore they quite possibly would qualify for a European union passport.

There has never been a more important time to have dual citizenship. A second passport is crucial if you want to protect assets, money and perhaps more importantly your freedom.

Remember a passport is the property of your government and can therefore be confiscated at any time. If you have two then you are not 'owned' by just one government which gives you so much more freedom and financial privacy.

All civilised governments today recognise dual citizenship, however none will publicise it. It's a little like advertising offshore investments, they won't do it because they want to keep your money in the country to tax it.

If they advertised the possibility of having more than one passport they would automatically be leading you to a much more abundant way to live, away from their borders, and ultimately they would lose control of you and your money.

The above topics and much more are covered reqularly at Q Wealth Report and at their events around the world. I speak to them regularly and can therefore highly recommend them.

Freedom from Government

"And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and try liberty: for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and His works."

Frederic Bastiat

"One of the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the evils in this world are to be cured by legislation."

Thomas B. Reed

"It is not the business of government to make men virtuous or religious, or to preserve the fool from the consequences of his own folly. Government should be repressive no further than is necessary to secure liberty by protecting the equal rights of each from aggression on the part of others, and the moment governmental prohibitions extend beyond this line they are in danger of defeating the very ends they are intended to serve."

Henry George
